Getting started

Slatepad runs in your browser. There is nothing to install and no account to create.

Open a document

You have four ways to start.

  1. Paste HTML. Click the paste field on the home page and drop in any HTML. This is the fastest path when an AI assistant just gave you a deck.
  2. Drop a file. Drag an .html file from your desktop onto the home page.
  3. Start blank. A simple two-block template you can build on.
  4. Try the demo. A 12-slide deck that shows what Slatepad can do.

Edit

Click any text element to edit it in place. Cursor placement, native selection, and the format toolbar all work as you would expect.

Select a range and the floating toolbar appears with bold, italic, underline, color, alignment, links, lists, duplicate, and delete.

Cmd+Z undoes any edit. Up to 50 steps are remembered.

Save and share

Slatepad autosaves to your browser every half second. The "Saved" pill confirms. Closing the tab does not lose your work; the document waits for you on the home page under "Recent".

Click "Download HTML" to export the finished file. You own the HTML. Slatepad never sends it to any server. Click "Download PDF" to open the browser's print dialog and save a print-ready PDF of the deck.
